Welcome to Burleigh House nursery website where we hope you will find all the information you need to assist you in making an informed choice on the best provision for your child. If you require more information or would like to visit the nursery please contact the Nursery Manager, Dawn Cromwell.

Our Nursery

Burleigh House Day Nursery is located at 25, Bryngwyn Road, a quiet residential area of Newport, South Wales. Our nursery is close to the town centre, civic centre, and junction 26 & 27 off the M4.

The nursery has been established since January 1992, and during this time we have built up an excellent reputation. Burleigh House Nursery is accommodated within a substantial house, suitably adapted for the purpose.

We have our own enclosed garden where the children can enjoy a wide range of outside play equipment.

Over the years a lot of time, money and effort has been put into developing our staff, equipment and environment to continually improve our provision. ‘We are registered with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) and our Preschool room is Estyn inspected.

Nursery Information

The Nursery is open five days per week from 8.00am to 5.30pm. Children can attend for either full day sessions, or half day sessions.

The morning session runs from 8.00am to 1pm and the afternoon session runs from 1pm to 5.30pm. On taking a place at Burleigh House parent/carers are requested to sign a nursery contract.

It is a requirement of that contract that your child arrives and departs within the times agreed with the Nursery Manager.

Tall Oaks from Little Acorns

At Burleigh House we recognise that as parents you have primary responsibility for your children, so an important aspect of our work is to encourage and maintain effective communications with you in relation to the achievements and progress of your child

Through professional development and training we, as qualified childcare practitioners have a good and clear understanding of how children develop and learn.

The Foundation Phase

The Foundation Phase is a framework that is used in schools, local authority funded nurseries, playgroups and childminders throughout Wales.

It is about enhancing the learning experiences, which enable children to be creative, imaginative and to have fun whilst learning.

Children are given opportunities to explore the world around them and to understand how things work.

Activities & Developments

Our garden area is very important to us, as we believe that it is one of our greatest assets, it is an area where children can learn so much.

Our garden offers a wonderfully rich, multi-sensory environment that is meaningful, stimulating and motivating for all of our young children.

It is a different environment that works in harmony with the indoors, extending and complementing it.
